FAQs

* When is practice?

Monday - Thursday evenings. 3rd session ONLY splashes Fridays.

Beginners (1st session): 5-5:30

Intermediate (2nd session): 5:30-6:15

Seniors (3rd session): M-TH 6:00-7:30; F 5:00-6:00  

* Where is practice?

The Frank D. "Poncho" Roberts Aquatic Center, 912 Avenue N, Huntsville, TX 77320

* How much does it cost?

The registration fee is $135 for the 1st swimmer, and $125 for additional swimmers in the same family. 

* Does the team offer financial assistance for the registration fee?

Yes, we have limited funds for registration fee scholarships. Please email the Board at [email protected] for inquiries.

* Swimming isn't working out. May I request a refund for my registration fee?

Yes, a full refund may be given through the end of first week of practice. Other requests may be honored; please sent requests via email to be discussed by the Board ([email protected]).

If you paid by credit card, we are able to refund the registration fee only (not the service charge).

* What gear do we need for practice?

Swimmers need: 

~ one-piece suit for girls

~ jammers/speedos for boys (trunks okay for practice only)

~ goggles

~ long hair must be pulled back; a swim cap is preferable

~ water bottle

All other equipment will be provided. 

* When and where are the meets?

Saturday mornings. Check the "Swim Meets" tab for this season's calendar.

* Does my swimmer have to compete in swim meets?

No. However, meets are so much fun, so we hope you'll consider trying out at least 1 home meet!

* How long does the season last?

Practices are Monday,  April 20 - June 11. The Divisional meet (last one for the whole team) is June 13. Post-season Invitationals for qualifying swimmers are June 20-21. Our end of season party is June 22.

* Do I have to volunteer/ why do I have to volunteer?

Yes, our meets cannot run without volunteers! At least one adult from every family must volunteer for each meet in which your swimmer competes. Sign up for a volunteer job when you register to swim in the meet. 

* What about cancellations for weather?

We swim during light rain and/or cold weather (The pool is heated). There are no refunds for weather or pool-based practice cancellations.

* Is there team merch?

This year we have custom suits & caps, in addition to our team shirt! Please note all merch is optional but highly encouraged.  

SUITS are purchased individually through our Swim Outlet store. See "Links" tab. The team receives a small portion of all sales made through our team store. Please allow 10-15 business days due to customization.

SHIRTS & CAPS are purchased from the Lakers Board. See Google Order Form in "Links" tab. Order is complete once payment is received. 

* Why do we have to put the left fin on first?

Because Coach Matt says so.
